Project Project
Chtonians pursues an investigation on underground ties and identity. Conceived by Igor Cardellini in collaboration with artists Basile Dinbergs and Julian Farade, this performative installation invites to explore a space that questions what constitutes us. The result of a collective creative process, the labyrinthine structures – halfway between sculptures, paintings and phantasmagorical bed frames – are conceived as mutant objects that precisely question identity.
At once works of art and partitions determining possible paths through the space, the structures making up the installation introduce a trouble into what is the real object of the show. They insinuate fluidity into the positions of its temporary inhabitants, who become in turn observers and potential objects of the gaze as they wander.
The labyrinth resonates with a poem from Mohamed Almusibli and a soundscape created by Bunny Dakota.
Chtonians is part of the exhibition “Carte blanche à Igor Cadellini et Tomas Gonzalez” organized by Le Pommier.
