Faux Terrain

Cyril Tyrone Hübscher explores, in Faux Terrain, the boundaries between reality, representation, and construction. Through a series of sculptures, paintings, display cases, and scenographic elements made from simple, deliberately exposed materials, the artist creates an immersive environment that does not seek to sustain an illusion, but rather to reveal the mechanisms behind it.

Using the garden as a point of departure, Hübscher examines our relationship to the “natural” and highlights the role of artifice in the objects, landscapes, and structures that surround us. By openly embracing the constructed nature of his works, he invites viewers to reflect on the fictions, conventions, and collective beliefs that shape our perception of the world.
