Painting, sculpture, drawing, video, film, installation, performance, theatre, dance… The artists of Neuchâtel are celebrating and the CAN has thrown open its doors to them.
The CAN invites the five prizewinners of the 62nd Biennial of the Société des Amis des Arts de la Chaux-de-Fonds to show their works. This group show takes the form of five acts, with each artist having about a week to put on a one-person show.
Pierre Gattoni chooses monumentality and shows two wall paintings, accompanied by an acoustic installation François Jacques sees the CAN like a factory ; research into a bevelled tube prompts him to produce pasta. Daniel Lupion exhibits paintings steeped in the earthy colours of Spain, where he now lives. Pablo Fernandez offers us the result of his photographic survey carried out in the streets of Neuchâtel. With an exhibition titled Parfois, la lune est un grand trou blanc Sometimes the Moon is a Big White Hole, Anton Marty shows programmes, oblects and installations produced between 1986 and 1996.
